Cardservice® Petroleum PlusSM

As more distributors cut their ties with their gas company partners and
become independent marketers and dealers, they come face-to-face with the need
to offer customers the same services they did when they were part of a larger
company. FDIS has a transaction processing program specifically for this market
segment.
The FDIS Petroleum PlusSM service brings all
credit card and payment solutions, including debit and fleet cards, directly to
the pump. A dedicated implementation team encrypts customer data from the pump
and inside the store. FDIS's Petroleum Plus service also provides fraud
protection with the Address Verification Service (AVS), which requires credit
card users to put their zip code into the keypad at the pump. If the system does
not recognize the zip code, the customer is asked to go inside the establishment
to pay.
Featured Service: Velocity Checking
Velocity checking, one of the features of FDIS's Petroleum Plus program,
limits the number of times a credit card can be used at the pump in a given time
period. Each card is assigned a maximum number of transactions on a daily,
weekly and monthly basis. Velocity checking is a great fraud prevention device
as it puts limits on credit cards. It protects employers, who hand out company
or fleet cards, and the station owners themselves, who may have unscrupulous
employees trying to charge something on customers' cards.
